Our tweener rides

Cruisers

The Cruisers were new in 2002. They are on the same platform as the Mini-Himalaya, just with a new twist on the theme of the cars. The cars are based on the styling of a convertible version of Chrysler's PT Cruiser, and added to that the beach/surf theme with the "woody" look. The ride was originally built by Venture Rides, and was installed new at Funland in 1987. The update that is being done on the ride is being handled by Advantage Rides, who assumed the inventory of Venture's rides and parts. The ride undulates along the circulative track, like the large Himalaya rides, going in a forward direction, and then running also in reverse.

Helicopters

The helicopters have been at Funland since the late 1950s. Always a crowd favorite, they were there before our family bought the park, and withstood the wrath of the Great Storm of 1962.

Jungle (older kids)

The Jungle has multiple elements for the kids to challenge themselves. Net climbs and web towers offer vertical climbs, while the tubes, log jams, and spider webs keep the kids working to get forward through the elements. Near the end of the maze is a three story spiral slide that takes the riders from the very top all the way down to ground level!

Crazy Daisies

This is one of those rides that looks tame from the outside, but once you ride them, you'll find they're not necessarily a kiddie ride! The Daisies were installed originally outside, in front of the Swinging Gyms, in the mid 1960s. They were moved to their present location around 1977.

Freefall

The Freefall has replaced the Frog Hopper which was located inside the building where the Balloon Wheel is now positioned. We had this ride designed specifically for the same location as that of the Frog Hopper, but we felt after seeing the finished product, we thought it best not to put it on the floor system that the Kiddie Rides are on. This floor level actually has a basement underneath, and we didn't want to have the Freefall fall into the basement!
